JP Licks makes premium ice cream. It’s creamy, thick, and delicious ice cream and I’ve been getting it for years. The frappes are excellent and the cones of just about anything are mouth watering good. But the more I eat the popular Oreo ice cream, the more I’m left feeling underwhelmed. The Oreo base is a dark consistency than that of other Oreo ice creams which makes the base taste delicious, BUT they blend the oreos into the mixture, so there are no oreo chunks. An oreo ice cream that’s devoid of oreo chunks is like playing on a basketball hoop without the net. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll still play on a basketball without the hoop and have fun, but it’s just not the same without the chocolate cookie chunks and creamy filling pieces in the base!
On a more positive note, I recently had a special edition JP Licks ice cream and loved it and think they should bring it to the mainstream. It’s called Negative Chip and there is nothing negative to say about it. Negative chip is chocolate ice cream with white chocolate chip chunks. Talk about a flavor burst! Rich, creamy chocolate ice cream with random chunks of white chocolate deliciousness. Each bite of Negative chip was better than the last, and the only thing negative about it was there were negative bites left when I devoured it!
