My Addicting Turkey Chili

The key to a good turkey chili is seasoning your turkey well so it doesn't taste dry and layering your chili with an abundance of fresh ingredients. So take your time, work on creating depth of flavor, and enjoy this one addicting, flavorful, and healthy chili.
Ingredients
- Seasonings:
- 4 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 ½ teaspoons ground coriander
- 2 1⁄2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ¼ tsp salt
- ⅛ tsp pepper
- 2 Tsp Honey
- Chili:
- 2 lbs ground turkey
- 1 red pepper diced
- 4 minced garlic cloves
- ½ jalapeno pepper diced
- 1 onion minced
- 1 Tsp grated lime zest plus 1 TB juice, plus extra as needed
- 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 fresh tomato diced
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 3 (15 ounce) cans kidney beans rinsed
- 1 cup low-sodium chicken bone broth
- 1 bag frozen corn
- Cilantro chopped 2 TB
- Salt and pepper
- Garnishes:
- Sour Cream
- Tortilla Chips
- Avocado
- Cilantro
- Shredded cheese
- Lime
Instructions
- Heat oil in Dutch oven over medium heat until shimmering.
- Fry onion for a minute and add some of the dry spice for flavor, then add garlic for another minute, then Add turkey and breaking up any large pieces of meath with a wooden spoon and cook until not pink on outside
- Add peppers and keep stirring for another few minutes until the turkey absorbs the flavors
- Stir in rest of dry spices and mix
- Now add fresh tomatoes and stir
- Then add canned tomatoes and stir
- Add honey and lime zest and juice
- Stir in broth and beans and corn stir gently so you don’t crush the beans
- Add chopped cilantro and stir all together
- Simmer, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened, about 45 minutes.
- Add another quarter cup of chicken broth if you desire a more soupy consistency
- Taste as you stir every so often and adjust flavor with salt, pepper, lime
- Garnish with all or some of the following:
- Lime wedges, minced fresh cilantro, , diced avocado, , shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese, sour cream, tortilla chips.
- Serve.
