I made a healthy, delicious 8 hour turkey chili in the crockpot and it was so hot, I had to cool it down w some cooling garnishes. There's so much flavor in this chili you won't miss the ground beef!
Ingredients
- Seasonings:
- 4 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 1⁄2 teaspoons ground coriander
- 2 1⁄2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ¼ tsp salt
- ⅛ tsp pepper
- Chili:
- 1 1⁄2 lbs ground turkey
- 1-2 peppers (red, green, or yellow) diced
- ½ jalapeno pepper diced
- ½ onion minced
- 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 2 (15 ounce) cans kidney beans
- Garnishes:
- Sour Cream
- Tortilla Chips
- Avocado
- Cilantro
- Corn
- Shredded cheese
Instructions
- In a skillet, heat olive oil medium heat, and add ½ of the onions and saute until transluscent, then add ground turkey with a pinch of salt and cook until no longer pink
- Drain.
- In Crock-Pot, add ground turkey, tomatoes, tomato sauce, two cans of beans, dry seasonings
- on top add onions, and peppers
- Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. Half way through, stir all the ingredients
- The chili will be hot, so add cooling garnishes and enjoy!
